AUCCIIM was formed in the mid-1990s from the UCC caucus at the IMN Annual Meeting. This new denominational organization was formed to broaden membership and to relate more closely to the UCC. Much was accomplished in the early days including a constitution and bylaws, obtaining standing within General Synod of the UCC, and continuing life and disability insurance.
As people who work with transitions, we recognize the need for continual review and adaptation of all our institutions to both accommodate and help shape changes in our society. AUCCIIM continues to work, grounded in the wisdom of the past, at the leading edge of renewal and change in the church.
A Mission for AUCCIIM
Preamble
In our rapidly changing religious environment, professionally trained Interim Ministers are more important than ever to the vitality of the United Church of Christ.
We who devote our ministry to churches in transition are prepared to serve as partners with churches in their process of change, and to minister with those for whom change is difficult.
Vision
AUCCIIM is the advocate and voice for professional, Intentional Interim Ministry within the United Church of Christ. We work with UCC leaders in churches, Associations, Conferences, and the Denomination of the UCC.
We commit ourselves to continuing growth and improvement in this profession through collegial on-line communication, regional gatherings, our annual meeting, and our presence within the UCC General Synod.
We are a growing influence and presence in the future shape of ministry in the United Church of Christ.
